It’s that time again – a new version of IDERI note has been released! As always, we've summarized the key new features for you.
Please note that this version requires new license keys, as the old keys from version 3.x are no longer compatible.
Secure Connection via HTTPS
From now on, the IDERI note Administrator and Client support HTTPS connections (“RPC-over-HTTP”), in addition to Named Pipes and a dedicated TCP port.
This new feature allows users to securely connect to their IDERI note server via the internet. It’s especially useful for laptops that connect to the server through Named Pipes or TCP while in the corporate network, and then seamlessly switch to an HTTPS connection when accessing a public network.
This feature is only available with a professional subscription-based license.
Interactive Update Check
The IDERI note Administrator now allows users to manually check for product updates for the IDERI note suite, in addition to the optional check that occurs each time a user logs in to an IDERI note server.
Enhanced Performance and Reliability
The IDERI note Administrator, command-line tools, and hotkey support components have been specifically optimized to make user, computer, and group name resolution significantly faster and more reliable.
These improvements enable system administrators to manage their IT infrastructure more efficiently.
Improved Accessibility
IDERI note 4.0 includes several enhancements to make the software more user-friendly and accessible:
- Optimized CHM help files and HTML documentation that now pass all Microsoft Accessibility Insights for Web tests without errors or warnings.
- PDF documentation in PDF/A-4 format, fully compliant with all VeraPDF checks for the PDF/A-4 validation profile.
Update and License Keys: Important Information
As mentioned earlier, upgrading to IDERI note 4.0 requires new license keys. To avoid service interruptions, we recommend requesting these new keys before updating. After installation, the new licenses can be entered via the IDERI note Control Panel applet.
